Livestock Robotics is a startup that applies robotics and automation to unburden livestock farmers.
With ever-expanding options in the area of automation and robotics, opportunities arise to drive efficiency in livestock farming. Robots can take over dull and dirty tasks from farmers and their employees. Our mobile robots operate across the farm and collect information about the status and environment of livestock, 24/7. Robots can perform important tasks that contribute to a farm’s efficiency, in case these tasks are heavy, undesired, or (economically) unviable when carried out by a person.
Livestock Robotics is a spin-off of Wageningen University’s Farm Technology Group. The Farm Technology Group makes the potential of technology available for livestock farmers. Bastiaan Vroegindeweij did his PhD research on Automation for Poultry Production, which resulted in the development of the first version of the PoultryBot. Based on the results of this research, Livestock Robotics was founded to bring this development to the market and make it available for poultry farmers.
